Opened 1993 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Macau Grand Prix, which features a number of automobile and motorbike races and takes place every year in November. It started in 1954 due to the enthusiasm of a group of Macau residents and the support of the authorities. Today it is an international sports event that attracts thousands of tourists and racing enthusiasts to Macau, to watch the classic "Guia Race" and the "Formula 3 Grand Prix". As it takes place on a street circuit, which inevitably leads to a comparison with Monte Carlo, the Macau Grand Prix has been developing into a race that, due to the exactness and the need for precision which it imposes on the drivers, has had the participation of great names of the motor racing participating and which has also served as a launching platform for many other names, the visitor will certainly recognise while visiting the Grand Prix Museum.

Grand Prix Museum The Grand Prix Museum contains exhibits that are related to Grand Prix worldwide including photos, videos, illustrated articles, cups, records of champions and some commemorative items. It was built in 1933 in memory of the 40th anniversary of Grand Prix Racing in Macau and is located in the Tourism Activities Center on Rua Luis Gonzaga Gomes. The Macau Grand Prix now enjoys a history of over 50 years starting in 1954. The museum with its many items focusing on the competition has become a must-see place for F1 enthusiasts. More than twenty formula cars and motorcycles once driven by world-renowned drivers such as Eduarfo de Carvalho, Michael Schumacher and David Coulthard, are on exhibition. The most eye-catching one is the racing car placed in the center of the hall. It was once driven by Aryton Senna, a famous formula car driver who died at the 1994 San Marino GP. It is a red and white Formula 3 racing car along with his racing cloth and helmet are displayed. In addition, the projection device in the museum can help visitors better understand the museum and the history of the Grand Prix racing competition. Some breathtaking scenes of GP in Macau as well as in other countries are on display. If you like, two racing car simulators enable you to experience racing on the challenging tracks at an extreme high speed. In order to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Macau Grand Prix, the museum was renovated in the charge of the local Tourism Bureau. The Macau Grand Prix Museum, one of the best of Macau attractions, is where you can literally stroll through all those legendary cars and bikes that made history on one of the world's most demanding street tracks - Macau's Guia Circuit. Well known for its tight corners and uncompromising crash barriers, the 6.2 km Guia Circuit, next to which the museum is located, has been the venue of the prestigious Macau Grand Prix for more than fifty years, and has seen names like Ayrton Senna, Michael and Ralf Schumacher, and David Coulthard, among others... Quite naturally, the museum focuses on all those internationally known winners who have made Macau Formula 3 Grand Prix into what it is today, and although it is a fairly small museum, it is really an attraction worth visiting. Macau Grand Prix Museum is open daily (except Tuesday), 10 am - 6 pm. Admission fees are MOP$ 10 for adults, MOP$ 5 for teenagers (11-18 years old) and free for kids (under 10) and elders (above 60) A combined ticket (to both Grand Prix and Wine museums) can be purchased for MOP$ 20 (adult).
